I started tattooing at a time when it was less popular and accessible than it is now, which is why I underwent quite a traditional apprenticeship. At that time, I was living in the British Isles, and that is where I made my first lines on the body. I bought my machines at the London Tattoo Convention in Tabacco Dock in 2012. Thanks to many brave, friendly squatters from the Carp Club, I quickly completed my original portfolio and got a job in a studio, initially in Glasgow, and later I moved to Amsterdam. I underwent in-depth training that allowed me to master the tattooing technique very well, but from the beginning, I felt that I wanted to tattoo in different circumstances than a commercial Tattoo Shop.
During my intense searches and over 50 guest spots in the best European studios, my vision gradually began to clarify. From 2017 to 2020, I ran a collective called o81, bringing together female tattoo artists and those from other fields.
When I became interested in tribal tattoos, meaning pre-Christian ones, I felt an absolute validity in the ritualistic, magical approach to this experience. However, it remained important for me not to use cultural borrowings but to create something universal for the contemporary person. With my maternity leave, I decided to detach myself from working in a group studio in favor of the privacy and intimacy of one-on-one work. Currently, my base is a cozy attic in the center of Gdynia, which I named "o przestrzeล."
The process of creating the Oidy Tattoo:
STEP 1 - FIRST MEETING
CHOOSING INTENTION
With the help of esoteric tools:
Astrology, Numerology,
Tarot, Pendulum, Meditation
and deep conversation
we will discover who you are,
what you need,
and how the Tattoo can support you.
After 3 hours of consultation, you will verbalize
and write down the Intention
we will work with.
STEP 2 - SECOND MEETING
DESIGNING THE PATTERN
I will design a unique Oidy for you,
your Magical Eyes that will serve
the Intention you have chosen.
During the next 3-hour session,
we will drink Ceremonial Cocoa,
I will guide you through another Meditation,
then we will paint the pattern
with body paints and work on it together,
ensuring it is right.
STEP 3 - THIRD MEETING
TATTOOING RITUAL
We will precede the tattooing
with a guided relaxation/light hypnotic trance,
enhancing the Tattoo's role
as a carrier of Intention,
and helping to better cope with
the discomfort of the skin embellishment procedure.
The amount of time needed to complete the Tattoo
depends on the size and complexity
of the project.
It may involve one or multiple sessions.
STEP 4 - FOURTH MEETING
CLOSURE
We will have a creative video-photographic session
of the healed tattoo, as well as an evaluation
of the process, summarizing the collaboration findings.
The entire process is documented by me in writing; this multi-page document is provided to you in the form of a PDF file.
I have been professionally tattooing since 2012. It is a technique that is the most important in my practice because when I create art for the recipient, there is nothing more powerful for me than literally getting under the skin of another person.
Since 2016, I have been doing tattoos as part of the Oidy project, which is based on working with conscious intention.
Since 2023, I have been working in a 4-stage, esoteric process, guiding the tattooed person through a spiritual transformation, of which the tattoo Oidy becomes a symbol.
